Today, I saw yet another doctor. This one, however seems quite hopeful. He {yes, I did say he} is a chiropractor, a nutritionist, and numerous other natural things {which include a medical degree, so he really is a doctor}. We had our consultation today. Our main focus is to rid myself of migraines. Secondary focuses would be nice to get rid of as well, however, right now they are secondary. We talked about all the therapies and such and what is available, as well as what is actually causing the problems. So today we did a chiropractic session. Here are some of my thoughts:
- why haven’t I tried this sooner?
- I get to keep my clothes on? This might just be the best doctor yet.
- seriously, did he just snap my back in half? …. I can still move, *phew!*
- OW, I mean…..wow, that feels amazing.
- you know when someone kills someone else in a movie very silently by snapping their neck? Yeah, I thought I might die, right there. Right then.
- I am no longer allowed to pop my neck {its unhealthy, doesn’t do what I think it does, and I never realized how hard this would be…..}
- I should probably work on my posture.
- My whole body was out of whack. I really needed that.
- That was really cool. He would try to push against my leg as I tried to keep it up in the air and I failed miserably. Then after he adjusted me, I could totally do it.
- I am so excited to be going to a natural doctor who can help me get off medication and start to feel better. You know, actually find the root of the problem instead of treating the symptoms.
- As I walked home my body felt fantastic.
- As I went throughout the day I could feel my spine. It felt like it had finally been unplugged and could flow freely.
I think the best thing about this doctor is that he listens to me. He understands that what I’ve been through is Hell and that trying to live and enjoy life while going through Hell is pretty much unattainable. He’s willing to try different things and figure out the best thing for me. Because every body is different and reacts differently. He also explains everything as we do it – which is so cool since I’ve taken Physiology and Anatomy {because I totally understand it}. I also love that they focus on all of the body, the physical, the emotional, and the chemical. Which is right – the body isn’t just made up of bones and organs. It is affected by emotions and controlled by chemicals and toxins.
All in all, it feels great to be working a different and better angle on getting me healthy. So we will see if this helps take away my migraines. Because honestly having a debilitating migraine every single week is getting old. Especially if I can do something about it.
