MTC

So the day finally came, today. I parked in the over-flow for the temple and walked down to the gates. Right as I walked up, their car pulled up to the front gate. I jumped in. We were told that when we pulled into the MTC all good-byes had to be already said, no pictures were to be taken, and no one but the missionary could get out of the car. So, we pulled around and out and went across the street to park. We walked up to the gates and took pictures as close as we could outside the gates. Then we walked slowly back to the car, hugs all around, and then drove back over to the gate and drove to the designated drop off place. We were then allowed to get out of the car and give one last hug and help her get the luggage out of the trunk. I find all of this ridiculous. We should be allowed to say good-bye, hug, and take a last picture at the curb – especially since she wasn’t due for another half hour and we were the only people there. Hello People! Why can’t the younger missionaries have as much freedom as the older missionaries? They are adults you know. They should be there because they want to be there and follow the rules because they are responsible – and if they don’t they should be sent home because they shouldn’t be there. Anywho, she was nervous but I know she’ll do great.
